Consulting
Meadowlark's consulting practice brings an inspector's eye to the other side of the table, helping farms, processors, and food businesses build compliance systems that actually hold up under audit.
This work grew directly out of years spent on the inspection side, including as an International Compliance Specialist implementing EU Organic Regulation 2018/848 across Ecuador and the Dominican Republic, and as a Transition to Organic Partnership Program specialist for the Colorado Department of Agriculture. That experience means Meadowlark understands both what a standard requires on paper and what it takes to meet it in practice.
How I can help
Certification readiness. A structured review of your operation against USDA Organic, Regenerative Organic Certified, Non-GMO Project, or EOV requirements before your official inspection, so surprises get caught early instead of during the audit.
Compliance systems design. Building or rebuilding the recordkeeping, traceability, and internal control systems that keep a certified operation organized and audit ready year over year, not just once.
Standards interpretation. Plain language guidance on what a specific regulation or standard actually requires for your operation, including international standards like EU Organic Regulation 2018/848 for businesses exporting or seeking equivalency.
Transition planning. Support for producers moving from conventional to organic or regenerative practices, including timelines, documentation, and what certifiers will expect to see.
Audit response and corrective action. Help interpreting inspection findings, writing corrective action plans, and resolving nonconformities with your certifier.
Training and procedure development. Policies, procedures, and staff training built for your operation, drawing on program and curriculum work developed for certification bodies and government agencies.
Who is this for?
Farmers/Growers
For producers pursuing or maintaining organic, Non-GMO, or Regenerative Organic certification, Meadowlark helps you get ready before the inspector arrives, and builds recordkeeping and management systems that hold up year after year.
Handlers/Processors
For processors, co-packers, brand owners, brokers, and importers managing traceability, mass balance, and multiple certifications at once, Meadowlark helps design internal control systems that stay clean under audit and scale as your supply chain grows more complex.
Certification Bodies
For certification bodies and agencies, Meadowlark brings direct inspector and auditor experience to policy development, procedure writing, and training programs for reviewers and inspectors, drawn from work building those systems for certifiers internationally.
